Panorama BC
Every year cousin Cheri books a family/friends weekend at a condo at the foot of the renown Panorama ski area. I missed this event last year and decided to paricipate this year.

Panorama is a beautiful 2 hour drive from Canmore through the Kootenay Mountains. Here is a sunrise scene with steam fog coming off an open spot on the Kootenay River at -16c.

The famous rock cut at Radium, BC.

Got to the condo at 9:30 to find Cheri and Sarah just leaving to go up the People Mover for a ski lesson.

A view of Horsethief Lodge from the People Mover.

Darwyn was already at the hill helping Justin get ready for his first snow board lesson.

Darwyn & Cheri on the way back down the people mover.

We went up again to check on the kids. Justin was doing what all boarders do best - laying around on the hill.

Kevin is the son of Cheri & Darwyn's friends. He was a tiger in the snow. Maybe he will learn how to turn next year.

Kevin's sister Carissa was enjoying the day too. She could turn.

Then the parents got to go skiing. Here is my first look at Cheri on the boards.

Darwyn and I headed to the very top of the ski area to see the "View of 1000 Peaks" looking east. Click for larger picture.

The view looking west was pretty good too. Darwyn on the right. Click for larger picture.

One skier found a better way down the mountain.

A quick look at the radium Hot Springs on the way back to Canmore.
